The Director of Public Policy will be responsible for leading and developing Lumen’s Public Policy & Implementation Team, while providing subject matter expertise and guidance on issues ranging from legacy telecom to complex technical issues. Seeking strategically focused and collaborative leader that has integrity who will be focused on employee growth and development while streamlining a team to support the mission and success of the business. Must be a regulatory and technical expert that can provide expert advice, interpretations, and recommendations to guide business, compliance, and risk management efforts.
The Main Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for the development of Lumen’s corporate policies, advising business units on technology, network deployment and product enablement, advocating to advance the company’s interests, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory obligations. In doing so, you will:
- Develop and communicate strategic corporate policies for internal/external stakeholders
- Balance and protect the company’s varied interests, including mitigating potential penalties and reducing or eliminating regulation
- Promote and advocate Lumen’s strategic goals and initiatives
- Own commitments and drive results that align with key business initiatives
- Ensure internal processes are established, implemented, and comply with federal and state obligations
- Manage compliance metrics, investigations, and reporting
- Oversee a team of Public Policy & Compliance professionals
- Successfully interact with internal and external customers, including Federal and State government representatives
- Influence the development of government policies and industry standards
- Collaborate and partner with cross-organizational teams
- Anticipate shifts in technologies and trends
